Mommy: Hunter, where did you hide the timer?
Hunter: It's somewhere in the house - unless it's outside - somebody might have put it in the garbage - I don't see it around.
Mommy: Thanks, Hunter.
(As a side note, we use the timer for a lot of transitions, and Hunter usually hides it in the couch cushions.)

Talking & Walking
Xavier has added a few more words to his rapidly growing vocabulary: quack-quack (for his rubber duck), all done, truck, and hush (when we read Goodnight Moon).
Xavier is also on the brink of walking. He took his first official steps on Friday, January 30, when he walked two steps from the coffee table to the couch, where mom and grandma were sitting. He has done this two step combination many times since, preferring to try his new skill close to the couch, or ottoman, or swimming pool full of balls, where he can make a soft landing. Today we had a new development - the three and four step combination. Xavier did this multiple times for both Doyl and me this morning suggesting he is about to master the walking milestone!
Our little baby has turned one, started talking, and is about to be walking. From baby to toddler, just like that!

Barf
If you're not on Facebook, then you didn't see my posts yesterday. My post at 7am read, "Allison Knoll Burkett started the day with Xavier throwing up on her." My post at 7pm read, "Allison Knoll Burkett ended the day with Hunter throwing up on her." There is a stomach flu going around West LA and it hit our house yesterday. It was fast and furious, and the boys are fine now. Doyl and I also had terrible nausea for a day, but thankfully kept it down. Kids throwing up is not fun, and when they throw up on you, it's worse, but I am amazed at how calmly I handled the situation, and thankful my husband did most of the clean up.
