Barf

If you're not on Facebook, then you didn't see my posts yesterday. My post at 7am read, "Allison Knoll Burkett started the day with Xavier throwing up on her." My post at 7pm read, "Allison Knoll Burkett ended the day with Hunter throwing up on her." There is a stomach flu going around West LA and it hit our house yesterday. It was fast and furious, and the boys are fine now. Doyl and I also had terrible nausea for a day, but thankfully kept it down. Kids throwing up is not fun, and when they throw up on you, it's worse, but I am amazed at how calmly I handled the situation, and thankful my husband did most of the clean up.

First Words

Over the last few months Xavier has started to develop a little vocabulary. His words include mama, dada, hi, ca (cat), hi ca (hi cat), toc-toc (for our tic-toc song), uh-oh, and cracker.

Bed Time

Bed time with Hunter is always a series of negotiations and plenty of tears. Tonight there was crying at his bedroom door (where we have a gate), "but I need to sleep with my eyes open!"

January Beach Days

Life is good when you can go to the beach in January. Here are a few pictures of the boys playing in the holes Doyl dug. I have to say, it is nearly impossible to get Hunter to look and smile at the camera these days.

Plumber

Doyl is on the phone with the plumber and Hunter yells to him, "daddy, do you have a penis?"
